The theme for this WIND Summit is “A Holistic Approach to Addressing Plastic Waste, Environmental Sustainability, and the Climate Crisis”. In this one-day gathering, we’ll explore the following issues

Implications of poor plastic waste management (health, economic, etc)
Circular economy and climate/plastic crisis
Alternatives to plastic based containers
Policy approach to tackling plastic crisis
Stakeholder and public engagement approach to tackling plastic/climate crisis
Creating reward systems to encourage proper waste management.

The FIRE Element focuses on rapidly transitioning to renewable energy sources, clean transportation, and accelerating ways to draw down fossil fuel dependence. Targeting the source of these emissions — namely fossil fuels — and doing so equitably, is the goal of the FIRE element. This FIRE Summit is convening Planeteers in communities around the world to develop campaigns to accelerate our transition away from fossil fuels.
