Powering Tomorrow: A FIRE ELEMENT SUMMIT
At the Fire Summit in Nairobi, we will emphasize the critical role of renewable energy in Kenya by outlining its environmental, economic, and social benefits. We will highlight how renewable sources like solar, wind, and geothermal can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, enhance energy security, and drive economic growth by creating jobs and attracting investments.
We will additionally showcase successful projects, such as the Lake Turkana Wind Power and Olkaria Geothermal Plant via video or a speaker who has worked on either projects, to illustrate the potential and impact of renewable energy initiatives.
Address the challenges, propose solutions like public-private partnerships and capacity building, and stress the importance of community involvement and education. We will conclude with a vision for Kenya’s renewable energy future and also tackle clean cooking something deeply rooted in helping households especially in the informal sector move away from firewood and other non renewable sources of energy.

About the FIRE Summit
The FIRE Element focuses on rapidly transitioning to renewable energy sources, clean transportation, and accelerating ways to draw down fossil fuel dependence. Targeting the source of these emissions — namely fossil fuels — and doing so equitably, is the goal of the FIRE element. This FIRE Summit is convening Planeteers in communities around the world to develop campaigns to accelerate our transition away from fossil fuels.
