FIRE Summit Greater Boston: Progress Toward Renewables will discuss the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy both in homes and at a policy level, the companies who try to stall climate priorities in the state house, those pushing for alternatives in-state, and the issues that are faced by homeowners currently because of fossil fuels.

FIRE Summit Greater Boston: Progress Toward Renewables
FIRE Summit Greater Boston: Progress Toward Renewables will be a five-hour event, diving deep into the issues surrounding fossil fuels in the city and how to transition to green energy. Our summit will consist of a keynote speaker and several workshops hosted by either an expert in the field or a youth organization to discuss our future with energy, both non-renewable and clean sources. While this event focuses on youth, all members of the Greater Boston community are welcome to join and learn more. This event will take place at MIT’s Stata Center (tentatively), and will take place from 10:00am-3:00pm. Lunch will be available to all attendees.

About the FIRE Summit
The FIRE Element focuses on rapidly transitioning to renewable energy sources, clean transportation, and accelerating ways to draw down fossil fuel dependence. Targeting the source of these emissions — namely fossil fuels — and doing so equitably, is the goal of the FIRE element. This FIRE Summit is convening Planeteers in communities around the world to develop campaigns to accelerate our transition away from fossil fuels.
