Team Planet is so excited to announce the launch of Season of Solutions (SoS) 2024!
What is Season Of Solutions?
Season of Solutions is a crowdfunding campaign opportunity. This means that you can submit a campaign solution plan and if accepted to SoS, your campaign will be posted on the Planeteer Alliance platform with a direct opportunity for people to donate to your cause. As Captain Planet Foundation is an established global non-profit organization, the opportunity to donate to your campaign will reach major funders and stakeholders. Planeteer Alliance will match the funds you raise with up to an additional $200 while funds last!
How do I apply?
First, review the Ladder of Engagement to identify what you need to complete before you qualify for this opportunity. You cannot submit for Season of Solutions until you have completed Bootcamp and received your certificate in Climate Awareness and Campaign Strategy.
Next, you will need to complete the Season of Solutions Campaign Planner. This campaign plan will be reviewed by both the Wisdom Council and Team Planet. Please note that only campaigns with thorough and high quality planners will be accepted into SoS. Once you have completed the planner, post it on Planeteer HQ to the relevant element group page for peer feedback.
Per the planner’s guidance, you will find the application for Season of Solutions will be available under the ‘opportunities’ tab in HQ. The application will ask you to submit your campaign planner and marketing materials, including a description of your campaign, a promotional video, etc.
The media you submit will serve as the promotional material for your campaign, meaning it is crucial that you make this content as clear and high quality as possible. You will find more information about media requirements within the application document.
Once your campaign submission has been reviewed by the Wisdom Council and Team Planet, Team Planet will make the decision of whether or not to approve your campaign. Following campaign approval, you will enter the interview process. The purpose of the interview is to answer your questions, to provide feedback on your campaign, and to offer general support.
In October, the Season of Solutions site will be live for funders to donate to your cause through the month of December.
What level of commitment is required for a successful SoS campaign?
As previously stated, campaign submissions will not be accepted from individuals who have not yet completed bootcamp. Furthermore, there are many components of the application that must not only be completed, but must contain high quality assets in order to be accepted into Season of Solutions.
It’s important to remember that you are pitching to Team Planet why your project deserves to be featured and why donors should contribute to your cause. Make it count!
Though you are being featured on the Captain Planet Foundation (CPF) channel and have access to funding, you cannot solely rely on CPF promotion to raise funds. Participants who market their campaign effectively will be more successful in obtaining their campaign funding goal. This means gaining support from your community through word of mouth, social media marketing, and other methods.
Additionally, it’s important in any grant opportunity to report the success of your campaign back to funders and supporters. Therefore, after the funding campaign has wrapped in December, we will ask that you not only report on the progress of your campaign, but also reach out to those individuals who contributed to your cause to express your gratitude for their support.
