From the beginning, the Planeteer Alliance was designed by youth to be led by youth to authentically meet the needs of young environmental advocates around the world. With that in mind, Planeteer Alliance is excited to announce the formation of the Planeteer Alliance Wisdom Council — a group of 12-15 Planeteers who will provide guidance and strategy for the program and community.
Members of the Wisdom Council will be responsible for providing guidance and input on community engagement, helping design programming and training, and making important decisions on behalf of the community. They will also ensure good communication, serving as a conduit between the broader community and the administrative team at Captain Planet Foundation.
A member of the Wisdom Council will serve for 12 months, and should be prepared to represent their peers, and make decisions in the best interest of the community. The group will meet monthly and have a private group in Planeteer HQ to conduct their work between meetings.
Membership of the Wisdom Council ideally reflects the diversity of geography, interest, age, experience level, etc. found in the broader community. In order to maximize diversity, a new group of members will be invited to join every three months (quarterly) as other members complete their 12-month commitment. Every three months, the Wisdom Council will select new members based on applications received, ensuring that the group remains diverse.
If you are interested in serving on the Wisdom Council, complete the application below. You may not be selected to serve immediately, but your name will remain on the list for each round of invitations until you are selected.
